Matjiesfontein

About Marie Rawdon Museum

Matjiesfontein is a very small and quirky town and even more so is the Marie Rawdon Museum. Here you can find an obscure collection of Victorian bits and pieces.

Housed in the train station, you will be able to see exhibits of Anglo-Boer War items, old cameras, penny farthings, clocks, ancient dentistry tools, dresses, bed pans and plenty of other bric-a-brac.

This vast collection is an odd mix of items and is awfully interesting to peruse through. There is so much to see. While here why not hop on an old London bus for a fun, historical trip through the main street in town.
