In the foothills of the mighty Swartberg Mountains, on the banks of the Groot River, near the small village of Klaarstroom, Avondrust Farm is a beautiful working farm offering you a memorable farm stay in this breathtaking scenery.

Accommodation

Accommodation consists of two self-catering cottages and a house. All three have braai facilities and wood can be supplied on request.

All bedding, towels, crockery, cutlery and self-catering requirements are supplied. The houses are accessed by good farm roads (Ebeneser Cottage is 800m from the tar road and Môreson House and cottage are 1.8km from the tar road).

Activities

Guests are free to walk on the farm, go hiking in the hills, cycle the farm roads and go bass fishing in the dams. There is a whole network of farm roads to enjoy. For the more adventurous, ask about the spectacular 20km road up to the mountain dam.

We are situated 50km from Prince Albert and 7km from the picturesque Meiringspoort.

The family friendly Môreson Cottage, which has recently undergone a major revamp, is finally available to guests and their little ones. Fun, friendly and family orientated with loads of space for kids to explore. The house is divided into two separate living spaces. The cottage side of the house boasts an open-plan cottage-styled kitchen, dining area and lounge with main bedroom, twin second bedroom and sharing a family bathroom. The cottage has a private braai / barbecue patio with seating for four and overlooks the garden and Karoo koppies. The pool facilities are set in a picturesque tiered garden and offers a large braai / barbecue boma, outside shower and bathroom facilities, as well as spacious lounging areas. Perfect for moms, pops and tots. Pick a side or take both. The pool facilities, gardens and surrounds are communal and can be enjoyed by all guests alike.
