About Lydenburg Museum
If you are interested in African culture then why not visit the Lydenburg Museum nestled in the Gustav Klingbiel Nature Reserve.
Here you can learn more about the Pedi people (Also known as Bapedi, Marota, Basotho etc), their culture and history. Discover exhibits showing the area where early humans lived, the most remarkable and noteworthy being the Lydenburg Heads.
You can also see displays of military history, old gold mining tools and strategies as well as a number of cultural exhibitions featuring clothing, tools and materials used and much more.
While here why not take a look around the reserve which is abundant in small animals like the Antelope, larger game such as Kudu, Wildebeest, Zebra, Impala, Warthogs, Jackals, Waterbuck and Giraffes as well as a large variety of bird species. Not only will you learn a lot in the museum, but it may be worth taking your camera for your walk around the reserve.
