About Riverman Cabin

Nestled in the beautiful valley of Tonteldoos, Riverman Cabin is the perfect place to exchange traffic for donkeys lazily grazing, rushed lunches for a picnic in the country and city noises for an evening song, sung by crickets and orchestrated by frogs.

Riverman Cabin is situated in the Tonteldoos Valley just 45 minutes outside the town of Roossenekal, +-30 km northeast of Dullstroom, which is approximately a three hour drive from Johannesburg.

Self Catering Accommodation

This is the is the perfect retreat for couples in need of a romantic weekend getaway, family gatherings or just an escape from city life, with no cellular reception and limited Wi-Fi near the cabins, you can be sure to reconnect with Nature, family and loved ones.

Each one of our 7 cottages and cabins located throughout the farm are rustically elegant and charming, decorated in a unique style with cozy indoor fireplaces as well as private external braai areas and a complimentary wood stock for your first night’s stay.

Please note

The roads become slippery when wet. We recommend vehicles with a high ground clearance. Guests travelling with low vehicles must take extra care on the gravel road – we are in Tonteldoos, 30kms of gravel road from Dullstroom (only 20kms gravel road if you travel via Middelburg/Stoffberg).

Please note that the cell phone reception on the farm is very poor.

Pets

Keep in mind that we do have other guests (who might also bring pets) – some who wouldn’t mind a visit from a furry friend, but some who would like to be left in peace. Please make sure that your pet is accompanied at all times.

Bring their own beds & bedding and refrain from using our beds and furniture. Please respect our other guests by cleaning up after your pet.

We have free-roaming sheep, chickens and Donkeys on the farm and the cabins are not fenced off, please keep them on a leash when going for walks and outside the cabins as they may chase our animals causing them to get hurt.

Whether you are a morning person who likes big breakfasts or prefer to sleep in, looking to spoil that special someone or just want a quick snack while you’re out and about – we’ve got you covered!

On Site Activities

Explore the farm on foot or Bicycle and take some time to appreciate the captivating beauty of your surroundings. Get out the sunscreen, put on some walking shoes and discover our wattle walk through the woods and some secret trails throughout the farm. Enjoy fishing in our well stocked Trout dam or Bass Pond or strike a few Golf balls on our Driving range. Settle down to an evening under the starts in complete serenity around the fire and wake to a cup of Coffee on the stoep watching the sun rise. Our Chapel doors are open for those that would like a private moment and a prayer.

Rainbow Cabin (Sleeps 10) is ideal for a large group. Rainbow has four bedrooms; three are furnished with double beds and the attic room is furnished with a bunk bed. In addition there are two single roll out beds on the landing. The cabin has two bathrooms; one en-suite on the top floor fitted with a shower, toilet and basin and one on the bottom floor fitted with a shower, bath, basin and a separate toilet. There is a spacious kitchen, a braai area on the stoep overlooking one of our dams and a fireplace inside for the cooler evenings.
