About Mtwalume Beach

The name Mtwalume comes from the name of a tree, it is said that the bark of the tree was traditionally used by Zulu’s as it had medicinal properties. The small Mtwalume Beach is mainly a holiday beach although you will find a local fisherman or two here as well.

This stretch of sand is perfect for a long, brisk stroll or take it a bit slower and see what interesting things you can find in the sand from beautiful shells to washed up bits of glass that have been shaped and smoothed by the tumbling sea.

The water is warm so you can spend more than just a few minutes cooling yourself down from the heat of the sun. Other popular activities include surfing, scuba diving and angling.
