About Cycasia Lodge

Cycasia Lodge is located on a seven acre property in a tropical garden setting, close to Umzumbe beach (800m as the crow flies). It is a good walk with a pedestrian access under the R102 or a one minute drive down to the Umzumbe beach, well known for surfing.

Umzumbe Accommodation

Cycasia Lodge can sleep up to 18 guests depending on sleeping requirements. All rooms are self-catering and fully equipped with kitchen utensils and bedding / towels.

Units 1 - 3
Garden units consist of three adjacent rooms each with a double bed and en suite shower / toilet with small kitchen area with hot plate, microwave and bar fridge. Unit 1 is slightly larger and has a built in sleeper couch suitable for a child aged up to 13. The rooms all lead out to a covered veranda with braai area and garden outlook.

The Main House is split into two separate units but can be linked with an internal stair case if required.

Main House - Top Flat:
Has two bedrooms sharing one bathroom with a shower and toilet. There is a large lounge with double sleeper couch / open plan kitchen and dining area with stove and fridge / freezer. The main bedroom has a sea view and queen size bed. The second bedroom has twin beds. There is an outside balcony overlooking the pool and a sunken garden with a built in braai.

Main House – Downstairs:
Has three bedrooms sharing one full bathroom and a separate toilet. The lounge is open plan to the dining room and the granite topped kitchen with outside covered entertainment area has a built in braai. Bedroom 1 has a king size bed, Bedroom 2 and 3 each have twin beds.

Main House - Honeymoon Suite:
The en-suite bedroom opens onto the pool area. It is furnished with a Queen-size bed and has a small kitchenette. The bathroom has a walk in shower and free standing bath. In addition a futon can be added.

The Main House downstairs and the Honeymoon Suite can be booked together.

Optional Daily Service

We do not live on the property; we do however have a housekeeper on site full time. Units can be serviced and washing done daily on request at an additional charge per hour.

Garden Unit Two is approximately 50 m from the main house and shared swimming pool area. The unit is furnished with a double bed, an en-suite bathroom that is fitted with a shower, and a kitchenette. It shares a verandah with the other garden units and has an outside braai area. The room is approximately 25 sqm. The garden area is fenced and vehicles are parked about 20 m away. Cleaning can be done on request.
