About Get Jazzy at Manenberg's Cafe

Sadly, Manenbergs Jazz Cafe has closed.

Born along alongside South Africa's true democracy in 1994, Manenberg's Jazz Cafe was the baby of two legendary South African radio talk show hosts. Conceptualised as a platform for authentic South African musical talent, they delivered big time!

Everyone is a celebrity at Manenberg’s Jazz Cafe, but some of their guests are celebrities to the rest of the world too. The musical crew has a story to share about rocking with a selection of well known politicians, iconic sportsmen and Hollywood movie stars. Of course while contemplating world affairs, in the locker room and on set... stories about 'getting down' with masters of South African rhythm and soul are being told to bodyguards, teammates and directors as we speak.

Uniquely African sounds collect on the Manenberg's Jazz Cafe stage, filled with legacies deep in African roots. Culture and flavour vibrate through listeners, transforming to foot tappers evolving into jammers. Legends of the underground and commercial local music circuits circulate heritage through the lyrics and beats that led some of them to international acclaim, mentoring the new blood that features to entertain visitors and regulars.

Live Jazz and live African music is sounded in a venue dedicated to all South African arts. The walls often hold works of local artists and sculptors, laughs are often the recipes of local comedians that perform skits, poets captivate as wordsmiths and featured dancers move your mood with their African step.

The wine menu has a strong representation of South African wineries and the food menu caters for world and local palates. While overlooking the yacht marina waters of the V&A Waterfront; wine, dine and get jazzy with it!
