About Gamkapoort Dam MTB Route

This moderately difficult route is a one way cycle that is 40 kilometers long and will take between 3 and 5 hours to tackle.

Park entry fees are applicable and payable at the tourism office on Main Street in Prince Albert. You start off on easy gravel roads and as you continue the road deteriorates somewhat near to the reserve.

Flat and breezy to begin with moving into sandy areas near the Gamka River. There are a number of gates you will pass through towards the nature reserve around the dam before you hit a 10 kilometer rocky stretch onto loose stones and rock. This wild ride is challenging and loads of fun.
