About Hiking at Tegwaan Country Getaway

There are 3 beautiful hikes that start from Tegwaan Country Getaway.

- Stone Circle Loop – Boven Vista – Valley View (varied options from a 3.5 km loop up to 7 km). From Tegwaan, a moderate trail that goes out to the escarpment, by various stone circles and by the Rock Fairy small waterfall (3.5 km).

From the main loop there are 2 view points that can also be added to increase the distance and give added amazing scenery, including going through the valley of the giant aloes!

- Rock Fairies Waterfall (10 km). Starting from Tegwaan Country Getaway you head out towards the edge of the escarpment and walk along the top of the until hiking down to the Rock Fairies river and then up the river to the waterfall at the bottom of Rock Fairies Gorge. The river is beautiful and it almost feels tropical once you’re in the canyon. The waterfall can only really be seen by hiking in and is over 50 m tall!

There is another option of instead of hiking back the way you come in, that you hike out and be picked up at the Five Arch Bridge but transport arrangement depends on the number of people.

- Boven Vista to Rocky Drift (10 km).Over the hill into the next valley and into the Rocky Drift Nature Reserve and their riverside restaurant.

Access to the nature reserve is R100 per person but they have a wonderful restaurant which makes it very worth the visit.

The hike is intermediate - difficult with some steep areas. From Rocky Drift there are a number of other amazing waterfall hikes.
