About Visit The Spider Lady

If you are into the creepy crawly, then you should visit the spider lady. Marie de Jager has a love for eight legged creatures and has transformed her house into a living museum.

She has learnt a lot about these creatures and while most find them scary or horrible, Marie believes that they are misunderstood and are in fact a very important part of the ecosystem and food chain and is set on passing on her knowledge to her visitors.

Locked in secure cages and tanks are a number of spiders and scorpions only of which 5 are venomous. The Spider crab is the most venomous one she has in her collection and it is nearly 10 years old. Some of the others she has are velvet spiders, a button spider and tarantula.
