BakOond is a one-bedroom farm style cottage in Nieuwoudtville sleeping two guests. The bedroom is furnished with two single beds. The bathroom is fitted with a bath, shower, toilet and basin.

The open plan sitting room and kitchen has an indoor braai, a bar fridge, microwave, hot plate, kettle, toaster, crockery and cutlery.

Outside there is a patio with a bench where you can sit and look and relax.

The unit is dog friendly by arrangement.

The Farm

There are many historical buildings to view for example the Smuts/Maritz office, the Waenhuis, the Opstal, and many more. For the adventurous people, there are also 4x4 routes and hiking routes that can be explored.

The seasonal flower routes like candlestick lilies and yellow “katstert” flowers are to be seen on these routes. A must to visit is the old graves, the “trapvloer” as well as the fountain and the old tractors.

As it is a working sheep farm, sheep shearing during spring (August) and in the autumn is very exciting as well as seeing the dogs in action getting the sheep together. At Gletser is a glacier pavement.
