About Tankwa Tented Camp
Tankwa Tented Camp is situated on the R355 between Ceres and Calvinia, on the historic Stonehenge Farm.
This unique retreat offers a peaceful escape in the heart of the Tankwa landscape, combining rustic charm with comfortable amenities.
Accommodation
Accommodation is offered in a selection of permanent rip-stop canvas tents, en-suite chalets, caravans, and cabins. The original farmhouse, known as Hartebeeshuisie, serves as a welcoming communal kitchen and lounge area for guests staying in the tents. The camp operates using solar power, with most of the hot water heated by traditional donkey systems, creating an authentic off-grid experience.
All units are equipped with comfortable beds, linen, towels, electric blankets, and solar lighting. Please note that there are no power points available in the units. Guests can make use of communal braai facilities, a lapa with dining areas and refrigerators, and the assistance of permanent staff who are available to help with accommodation requirements and meals. Convenient meal packs can also be arranged.
