About Just Nuisance Community Market
Travellers that have booked Simon’s Town accommodation are in for a treat that combines culture, heritage, history and loads of fun activities for the whole family. The Just Nuisance Community Market is a monthly market that is held at the vibrant and historical Jubilee Square, right in the heart of the town, in summer; and in the Town Hall in winter. Jubilee Square is a gorgeous venue that is flanked by the ocean on one side, and the mountains of the West Coast on the other.
Here, traders, shoppers and tourists come together to savour the lively ambience together. All of the traders are locals, and almost every single one of them (with the exception of a trader that sells electronic goods and a vendor with family collectibles) creates their own product(s). This means that visitors will get to enjoy unique handmade and homemade goods.
The Just Nuisance Community Market ties in with Fran’s Place on the square. This is a welcoming little restaurant with great coffee – the perfect place to relax with a cuppa and a snack before heading back out to the stalls. Usually, there will also be some kind of fundraising initiative on the go for a charity or NPO like the NSRI, Simon’s Town Girl Guides, or the local animal rescue group.
Live music always adds a fun element to a market, and this one is no exception. Simon’s Town is less than an hour from Cape Town, the V & A Waterfront, and the Two Oceans Aquarium.
