Thompson Bay, Dolphin Coast
The province of KwaZulu-Natal continues to be the destination of choice for those that love the extensive, beautiful coastline of South Africa. Thompson Bay is a sheltered little inlet that is nestled between Chaka's Rock and Ballito. Because it is somewhat protected from the elements, it is ideal for fishermen, as well as friends and families that want to spend the day swimming in the warm waters, or playing on the sand. There are life guards on duty to protect the bathers, as well as shark nets to prevent any unwelcomed encounters with these beautiful hunters.
Thompson Bay is close to a number of other popular beaches along the KwaZulu-Natal coastline; including Zimbali, Clarke Bay, Willard and Salt Rock beaches.
Thompson Bay is the perfect destination for those that want to enjoy the hot, humid conditions of KwaZulu-Natal within the tranquillity of a secluded spot. The tourist attractions of the bigger towns are a mere drive away, making them accessible and convenient.
