Nambiti's chief appeal is its exclusivity as the only reserve in Kwazulu-Natal with big 5 viewing. Lion, elephant, leopard, buffalo and rhino are included in the 30 species of game the malaria-free 22 000 acre reserve offers in Ladysmith close to the southern Drakensberg, just three hours from Durban and four hours from Johannesburg.

For those en route between the two major cities, Nambiti serves as a stopover venue to break the distance. And for visitors to the country who cannot make it as far as the larger safari destinations, Nambiti has the added bonus of carrying a larger capacity (almost twice that of other major safari destinations) of game per hectare that includes regular cheetah sightings. Nambiti is ideal for those on quick visits to Durban or Johannesburg. Long distances do not even feature as a hindrance to seeing game, and one will not lose a day whilst travelling to a safari destination, so it fits in well for those with pressing itineraries.

The Nambiti Private game reserve's terrain is biodiverse - including savanna, woodland, grassland, thornveld and tall acacia trees providing visitors with access to rolling plains, valleys, mountains and the Sundays River that presents a stirring 40-metre waterfall in the reserve.

Whilst visiting include the Le Seur Cheetah project. There are now fewer than 10 000 cheetahs worldwide and the project, together with a number of other cheetah breeding projects around the country, aims to strengthen the gene pool, breed cheetahs in captivity and release the cubs into the wild. The reserve offers several lodges at which to stay, each with unique features and different selling points.
