Attractions

Newcastle is the third largest city and urban centre in Kwazulu Natal and is moderately industrial and was founded in 1864 and was named after the Earl of Newcastle, who was the Colonial Secretary in Queen Victoria's Government at that time. There are quite a few attractions to visit in the area, such as the 1000-hectare game park Chelmsford Nature Reserve, renowned for carp and bass fishing; monuments and memorials, museums, and various outdoor activities.
