Open from 08h00 to 21h00 every day, this eatery is about comfort, charm and a warm, South African hospitality. The fully-licensed pub is inviting, complete with an open fireplace for chilly Free State evenings that are best spent with a glass of sherry or a great local red wine. During the warmer summer months, the pub is equally popular for its ice-cold beers or a crisp white. The wine cellar is a delight to see and its range impressive. The collection includes an array of different labels and varietals to suit just about any preferences.

Bella Rosa has an old oak tree under which to relax and is close enough to the old sandstone buildings of Ficksburg that one can opt to walk there. Other things to do and see in this town include the Khoi-San paintings inside the caves of the mountains, horse riding, going skiing on the Mahlasela slopes, or visiting the local asparagus and cherry farms. Every year, the Cherry Festival is held here, and the little town bursts into a hive of activity and visitors come from near and far to sample the delicious fresh berries. The town is in the foothills of the Imperani Mountain Range, which offers further activities (hiking and climbing, for example), as well as a near-perfect backdrop.
