The Mountain Lodge is located at Buffalo Hills Private Game Reserve which is situated about 30km south of Harrismith near the Sterkfontein Dam in the Eastern Free State.

Self Catering Accommodation

Buffalo Hills Mountain Lodge provides accommodation in Harrismith in five chalets that may only be booked for exclusive use. The chalets are attached to a central kitchen and lounge area with a cosy fireplace.

Chalet 1 is furnished with a Queen-size bed and has an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower, toilet and basin. Chalet 2 is furnished with two single beds and also has an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower, toilet and basin. Chalet 3 sleeps six guests in two Queen-size beds and a double bed. The en-suite bathroom is fitted with a shower, bath, toilet and basin.

Chalet 4 can accommodate three guests in a King-size bed and a single bed and makes use of an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower, toilet and basin. Chalet 5 has a King-size bed and an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower, toilet and basin.

The Onsite Facilities

The spacious central kitchen is fully equipped for self catering and includes a stove and oven, fridge, kettle, dishwasher, cutlery, crockery and glassware. There is ample storage and counter space as well as a large dining table to enjoy meals.

The lounge is comfortably furnished and includes full DStv and Wi-Fi for your convenience.

Braai facilities are provided with firewood available at no extra charge.

Activities and Attractions

This area is perfect for fishing, mountain biking, bird watching and game viewing. The Bald Ibis Trail and Maluti Cave Hike are wonderful walks and there are great bike routes at Aansluit MTB Trails. Further afield is the Basotho Cultural Village and The Gourmet Shed for delicious meals.
