About Gentle Presence

Gentle Presence was originally a stable dating back the 1900’s and farmers gathered here in ox wagons and shared Holy Communion (Nagmal). The two self-catering Cottages offer exceptional mountain views and are set apart from each other.

Clarens Accommodation

Gentle Presence offers two self catering cottages. Cottage 1 sleeps 6 guests whilst Cottage 2 sleeps 2 guests.

Gentle Presence Cottage 1 consists of an open plan living area, a kitchen, 2 bedrooms and 2,5 bathrooms. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering. There is a TV and a dining room table where you can enjoy meals or play games. The bedrooms have all linen, electric blankets, heaters and fans. Both rooms have Queen size beds and the Living Room has a sleeper couch for 2 children/young guests.

Cottage 2 is situated some distance away so you can enjoy privacy and tranquility. This Cottage is a couples unit with open plan kitchenette (no stove) and a walk-in shower. It has it's own entrance. Guests can book both Cottages for groups of up to 8 Guests.

On Site Facilities

The garden is large and shared with owner and other guests. Shaded parking is in the yard, behind locked gates. The covered patio has a large table and chairs where guests can make use of the braai and firepit or just enjoy the views of the garden and mountains.

Built in the 1900’s, Gentle Presence is one of the oldest sandstone homes in Clarens. This quaint and cosy heritage home offers self catering for four people and has exceptional views of the Rooiberge and Maluti Mountains. The cottage has an open plan living area, a fully equipped kitchen, two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The bedrooms share a balcony. Both bedrooms accommodate two guests. Bedroom 1 is furnished with a Queen-size bed and Bedroom 2 has two single beds (can be converted to a King-size bed on request). Each bedroom has a private bathroom across the passage. Toiletries are provided and a hairdryer is available on request. There is also a guest loo on the ground level. The kitchen is fully equipped for self catering and the open plan living area has a flat screen TV with premium DStv. There is a large dining room table where you can enjoy meals or play games. There is a covered patio with braai facilities.
