About Mohair Experience Museum
Come and visit the Mohair Experience Museum in Jansenville. The museum was opened in 2009 at the same time as the International Mohair Summit, the event is now held in Graaff Reinet.
You'll learn all about mohair and can watch the entire process as the wool is taken from the goat and transformed into fabric or garments. You can purchase finished products in the shop that is hourse in the same building, these are some of the finest quality available.
The Angora goat forms the main branch of farming in the Jansenville district and, while wool and meat are also produced, the economy of the town and the district depends largely on the diamond fibre mohair. So it is a wonderful experience visiting this museum.
