KwaZulu Natal Game and Nature ReservesThe AmaZulu Game Reserve
Situated in Northern KwaZulu Natal, on the banks of the Mkuze River, the Amazulu Private Game Reserve is the home of the Amakhosi and Mkuze Falls Lodges. Boasting 10 000 hectares, this private game reserve is made up of a varied ecosystem.
The diversity of the AmaZulu Reserve includes savannah, mountains and wetlands which makes it the ideal home to the "Big Five" (lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant and rhino) as well as giraffe, warthog and hyena as well as various different antelope species, hippopotamus and crocodile.
The wetlands offers no less than 400 bird species making this an ideal destination for the avid birder.
Early morning and late afternoon guided walks and game drives lead you into the African bush to observe the animals and their fascinating behaviour. The abundance of flora and fauna always reveal something interesting, both on the ground and in the air.
Qualified game rangers introduce the unique role each animal plays on the massive stage within the African Kingdom.
