About Nan Hua Buddist Temple
This beautiful temple is a village that seems to fill almost the whole suburb, there are a few houses within the village, constructed by people who are happy to share their lives with the buddhist monks that occupy the area.
The name Nan Hua, means flower in the south and has a calming, relaxed atmosphere. You instantly feel at peace upon entering this beautiful place. The saying ‘silence is golden’, really has meaning when you come here, everything is peaceful and the only noise are the whispers of people buying Chinese Buddhist souvenirs and trinkets at the little shop at reception.
No shoes are allowed inside, so you will notice rows of shoes on entry. Through a set of doors you can hear the sound of chanting from the monks in meditation. The main shrine is outstanding, everything within has meaning and aims to offer enlightenment to those who visit. This enchanting place is magnificent to visit and has a number of interesting things to see and learn.
