Leadwood Safari Camp is a private eco-camp situated in the Dinokeng Big 5 Game Reserve, a mere 40-minute drive from Pretoria and an hour from O.R. Tambo International Airport. This pristine bush retreat offers an ideal escape from the demands of modern life.
Self-Catering Accommodation
Leadwood Safari Camp features glamping units, each designed to host two adults and two children under the age of 12. Each of the units includes a wood-burning hot tub and a fireplace.
Each unit is furnished with a king-size bed and can be equipped with two child-only mattresses. These units also include a private bathroom with a shower, toilet, and washbasin. The exclusive private safari camplet unit features a king-size bed and a bath in addition to the standard amenities.
Each unit boasts a wood-burning hot tub, a fireplace, and a kitchenette equipped with a two-plate gas stove, fridge-freezer, cutlery, and crockery. Guests can also enjoy dining tables, outdoor seating, and an additional fireplace.

Eco-Friendly
As an eco-camp, Leadwood Safari Camp emphasizes harmony with the African wilderness, offering limited electrical power. A single power point at the lapa area is available for charging electronic devices. The camp relies on alternative power sources such as gas and fire, and predominantly uses invasive tree species for wood fuel to help preserve indigenous trees.
Game-Drives
For those seeking adventure, Leadwood Safari Camp offers daily game drives at an additional cost. We cater to outdoor enthusiasts with tailored experiences such as bird watching and wildlife photography. Snacks and beverages for game drives can be arranged upon request for an additional fee.

Overall the stay was good. The bath towels are old and broken that needs replacing. Some of the pans etc are also not in good condition which is unhealthy. Being asked to pay for wood after the 1rst use made us not want to use the facilities due to running extra costs. We are at liberty to what you supply as there is nothing els we can do in a camping scenario. So to charge me extra wood after first night is ridiculous also to add- no where on your site it states that's the case! Otherwise I would have considered other options.
