Just north-east of Johannesburg and 35 kilometres from Pretoria in the Gauteng Province of South Africa is the McCarthy Rhino Park 4x4 Trail. This part of the country is frequented by international tourists, thanks to Gauteng’s being the commercial and social epicentre of South Africa and home to the OR Tambo International Airport.

The McCarthy Rhino Park 4x4 Trail is a circular route that has a number of escape points along the way for those who do not want to venture out onto the total extent of its 12 kilometres. The Olifants and Limpopo rivers both contribute to the catchment of the region, which adds to the biodiversity and natural abundance.
