Opened in 1994 and one of the newest most exciting additions to the Western Cape Golfing fraternity Strand Golf Club, over the years, has proven to be an excellent course in the hands of an excellent team. Situated between the breath-taking Hottentots-Holland Mountain Range and the sandy shores where the Indian Ocean meets the land in False Bay, Strand Golf Club enjoys incredibly dynamic views of all that nature has to offer.
Proof of the clubs dedication to golfing is the award of “Most improved Course in the Cape” recently granted to them by The Complete Golfer magazine, which both members and staff are hugely proud of. Occupying real estate near any ocean often results in the odd breeze here and there but Strand Golf Club don’t ignore the Cape’s notorious South Easterly wind, they have embraced it to the point of honouring the wind with its own tournament appropriately named the “Southeaster.”
Strand Golf Club welcomes visitors to play on their 18 hole Championship course which accommodates a host of various tee options accounting for a difference in 500m over the run of course. Famous for its greens and its numerous, sparkling water hazard the course has matured over the years since opening and now the two and a half thousand trees planted here in 1994 have also rooted themselves into play.
Club facilities include a Halfway House, Upstairs Lounge with Bar, Terrace with beautiful views, Pool Table & Dart Board. There is also a bar downstairs in the Halfway House.
