About La Casa Nostra
The province of KwaZulu-Natal is a popular holiday destination in South Africa, acclaimed for its gorgeous beaches, natural abundance, colourful heritage and friendly folk. Of course, fine dining always makes the experience all the more memorable, and visitors to the province are invited to sample some of the glorious fare for which La Casa Nostra is so well known.
This family-run restaurant is situated in Umdloti, which is a coastal town just north of the urban epicentre of Durban. The beaches here are beautiful and make for a picturesque background for diners that want to combine good food and gorgeous backdrops.
La Casa Nostra is an Italian restaurant that was established in 1996. The décor and menu are apt representations of all things Italian and Mediterranean. The indoor dining area is complemented by the outdoor terrace; just right for balmy summer nights. An impressive 50 diners can be seated outside, and an additional 50 inside. This makes it large and comfortable enough as a venue for celebrations or events, as well as intimate enough for a romantic dinner for two.
The menu comprises pizzas, pastas, seafood and red meat dishes; some traditional and some more innovative and daring. Risottos, lamb shank, grilled quail and Italian grills feature amongst diners’ favourites. The homemade Limoncello is a must-try for rounding the hearty meals off to perfection. Whether you prefer the traditionally simple flavours of Italy, or want to try something with a twist, the plentiful, comprehensive menu will surely have something to suit young and old alike.
