A dynamic and engaging group experience, drumming offers participants the opportunity to take part in a truly authentic African cultural tradition through collective rhythm-making. Unlike many group pursuits that foster competition, drumming promotes unity and connection, allowing participants to collaborate rather than compete. The act of drumming also serves as a natural stress reliever, as it stimulates the release of endorphins while encouraging relaxation through creative expression. Rooted in centuries of tradition, group drumming brings together elements of storytelling, rhythm, song and dance, all driven by the live beats created by the participants themselves.

What Can You Expect At Our Drumming Sessions?
Each participant is provided with their own drum, ensuring full involvement from the outset. Sessions are fully interactive and guided, with structured activities designed to engage and energise the group. A variety of rhythmic patterns are introduced to maintain interest and momentum throughout, while a balanced combination of drumming techniques, engaging demonstrations and light-hearted humour ensures an enjoyable and memorable experience.

The Participants Will Play:
Participants will use their hands to produce a range of sounds on traditional djembe drums, exploring authentic African rhythms in an accessible and enjoyable way. The experience includes call-and-response sequences, a variety of African-inspired beats and opportunities for individual drum solos. Activities are structured to include both group participation and individual expression, creating a well-rounded and immersive drumming experience.
