Located on an old dairy farm in the south eastern suburbs of Pretoria, Woodhill Country Club golf course has managed to retain its old pastoral charms while at the same time fits very nicely in amongst the flock of contemporary houses that make up the estate that the course is encircled by.
Woodhill is a Peter Matkovich course and the view from the clubhouse certainly pays homage to the architect’s flair for mixing a superb course with unparalleled scenery. Lush fairways give way to expansive greens but not without costing you a couple of wayward shots. The course played host to the 2001 PGA Championship and certainly gave the pro’s a decent run for their money.
The parklands course is a game of two halves. The front nine rise and circle the “hill” and then flatten out for the more heavily wooded back nine. Total length is a respectable 6752m and three different tree options are available. Visitors are of course very welcome but please note that this excludes Saturday mornings.
Facilities are top class and include: a clubhouse; driving range; Pro-Shop; teaching academy; pub and locker rooms.
