About Tunnel Tour
Everybody takes a tour of the city, but have you ever taken one underground? The tunnel tour in Cape Town starts at the Castle where you will be told a bit more and led to the foot of Table Mountain, given a torch and a pair of wellies before descending into the darkness through a cast iron manhole.
Excitement and adrenaline kick in as you climb down into another world below the City of Cape Town. A guide will give you more information about the tunnel and the history behind it, making this tour ever more thrilling. The tunnel was previously an open river which ran from the mountain to the sea, supplying the early settlers with fresh water.
Your underground adventure is ventilated and clean with natural light leaking in, making it possible to take those memory holding photos. You will need to be reasonably fit to complete the tour and if you are heavily claustrophobic then please speak to the tour guide before embarking.
