About Reinholds Restaurant
The town of Clanwilliam may be tiny, but there is no shortage of charm and quality when it comes to dining out. Reinhold’s is an acclaimed restaurant that is famous for its awesome steaks and meat dishes. It adheres to traditional steakhouse techniques, but does include a few pastas, as well as a selection of poultry dishes. The ample portions will not disappoint even the hungriest of patrons.
Reinhold’s atmosphere is old-fashioned and warm, with more focus on the dishes than on the embellishments. The wine list offers a number of fair-priced estate specialities for those that know and love South African wines. However, patrons are also welcome to bring their own wines, if they prefer. Located in an old Victorian house on Main Road, Reinhold’s Restaurant is an establishment loved by locals, specialising in meat. From succulent lamb chops, to fillet, the extended a la carte menu offers something for everyone, while a small bar offers a respite to diners wanting to warm up a little before a meal.
The word ‘retro’ comes to mind when reading the menu, which offers starters such as crumbed camembert, black mushrooms and snails. An impressive seafood section boasts kingklip, salmon, mussels, calamari and sole, prepared in various ways, accompanied by a baked potato, chips or rice. Patrons rave about the pasta, which includes smoked salmon, and spinach and feta toppings.
Get a dose of the 80’s with a trip to Reinhold’s, where framed photographs of local celebrities stare out from lilac walls and mushroom sauce reigns supreme.
