Step into Clanwillliam's old jail, built in 1808 and discover more about the history of the area including the inhabitants of the San and the Rooibos tea production. This museum exhibits the 1820 settlers, the Boer War, old Voortrekker wagons and you can find out what tools and utensils where used by the local bushman.
Clanwilliam is one of the oldest settlements north of Cape Town and contains many historical buildings and features. Explore the original farm house, the Officers residence, the flower church and even the 1820 settlers house.
There are guided tours of the town available otherwise take a stroll and see what this quaint little town has to offer. Clanwilliam is a charming place in a stunning setting with a large dam and exquisite scenery and is a place you don’t want to miss.
