About Keurboom Park
For visitors that have booked their stay in one of the beautiful Rondebosch guesthouses, a visit to Keurboom Park comes highly recommended. This pretty green park is set against backdrops of the iconic Table Mountain, right in the heart of this vibey Cape Town suburb. It is the perfect place for a bit of quiet time and reflection, away from the bustling city centre.
There are paths for running, walking and cycling (cyclists are reminded to yield to pedestrians), as well as big green areas for dogs to run around under the watchful eyes of their owners. Keurboom Park is fantastic for families with children because there are two play parks, as well as plenty of room to run. One of the play parks is designed for little ones that are under six years old (no dogs are allowed here, so toddlers can play without you worrying that they will be knocked over by playful pooches).
The second park is for kids that are slightly older. There is also a skate park, where teens and older ones love showing off their skate-boarding skills and practicing new manoeuvres. The spacious areas are ideal for picnics, where the dappled shade of the trees makes for the perfect canopy.
Keurboom Park is clean and well maintained. It is close to the rugby and cricket fields of Newlands, as well as to Cavendish Square, a popular mall with loads of shops, restaurants, and entertainment. The V & A Waterfront and City Bowl are about 15 to 20 minutes away, while the international airport is only 15 minutes away.
