About Hazendal Wine Estate
Situated beside the Bottelary Hills in Stellenbosch is a farm where vines were first planted 312 years ago. 1994 saw Dr Mark Voloshin and Leo Schumacher purchase and restore this estate back to its historic beauty whilst merging Russian and Cape Dutch cultures.
Some of the finest Merlots and Shiraz wines can be found here as well as innovative Cabernet blends. Amongst its white wines, its Chenin Blanc is particularly popular.
Hermitage Restaurant is reason enough to visit Hazendal. This stylish restaurant can be found in the estate’s wine cellar with a Mediterranean and South African flair characterising the menu. In Winter, sip a glass of red wine beside the fire or in Summer you choose which part of the farm you’d like to picnic on. Breakfasts are also available from 09h00 to 11h00 other than Mondays, so any time at Hazendal is a great time.
Aside from the heavenly food and wine pairings, the conference facilities available cater for private functions and weddings. Corporates can use this as a venue for team building and bond over 4x4 driver training, clay shoots and quad bike events.
