About Allesverloren Wine Estate
Allesverloren dates back to the the 17th century and is one of the oldest estates in the Swartland. The Malan family have owned it since 1872 when Daniël Francois Malan took over the farm which was used to cultivate wheat. He envisioned wine making and not long after he started making fortified wines, they were in demand.
That first sweet wine is now the estate flagship port, Fine Old Vintage. In 1956 Daniël won the General Smuts Trophy in the SA Championship Young Wine Show for the Allesverloren Port. Five generations later, Danie Malan owns this estate and is at the helm of wine making.
On the slopes of the Kasteelberg, you can sample Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Tinta Barocca, Touriga Nacional and Fine Old Vintage whilst overlooking the Riebeek Valley. Warm, dry summers allow the grapes to ripen with high concentrations of sugar.
