Sonkop at Fynbos Estate is ideal for nature lovers craving some solitude. It is situated a kilometer from the farmstead inside of the nature reserve. With spectacular mountain views, Sonkop is a romantic getaway spot, but also accommodates a small family or two couples. It is entirely off the grid, running on solar energy. The estate offers wonderful food and wine, comfortable accommodation and a relaxed and easy atmosphere.

Self Catering Accommodation

Sonkop holiday home in Malmesbury has two bedrooms. One is furnished with a double bed and one furnished with two three-quarter beds. The bathroom is fitted with a shower, toilet and basin.

The living area is open plan and there is a kitchenette equipped with a two-plate gas stove, small camping fridge (no oven or microwave). No facility to plug in devices, phones, hairdryers etc. Guests are welcome to charge phones at the main farmstead and additional refrigeration / freezer space available at the main farmstead.

There are verandahs on three sides of the cottage and braai facilities.

Pets

• The house is pet friendly but only for pets who do not wander as there is no enclosed garden.
• Please ensure that the dogs are adequately controlled at all time
• Owner must bring own dog beds bowls etc.
• An additional fee is charged per night per dog

The Estate

Fynbos Estate offers a range of facilities for those staying on the farm. These include a raku fireplace in winter and a swimming pool under the mountain in summer, wine tasting and wine making, a large domestic library, satellite TV. The restaurant food is farm sourced and prepared with creativity and experience in a variety of styles.

Exploration of the farm and mountain by foot give visitors a chance to enjoy virtually pristine fynbos vegetation and indigenous birds and animals. Cycling up the mountain road is a hit with the fit and a high clearance vehicle will take visitors up the mountain by road where they will be greeted by spectacular views from the top of Dragonridge and Sonkop.
