About Basic Survival Course
Your journey into the world of bushcraft and survival starts here - You will learn all the skills you need to survive in the wild. Skills covered: fire, shelter, food, water, traps, cordage, knife techniques and sharpening, navigation, rescue and more. This course is open to anyone regardless of age or physical ability.
Sharpen your basic survival skills so that you hide from the search party dispatched to the site of your plane crash because you are having that much fun doing nothing in the middle of nowhere. Qualification for the Advanced Survival Course offered by Bosma (Bushcraft On Safari Wilderness Adventures) is subject to completion of their Basic Survival Course or an assessment with the option of subsequent lessons if deemed necessary.
Your inner cub or girl scout will be enthralled at the opportunity to put your extreme situation survival skills to the test in this hands-on reconnaissance complete with ration packs. The unmarked tins of canned food and sachets of indistinct syrup will motivate your effort in excelling in trap setting for protein based food sources thereby securing your position on the food chain.
Personal survival instructors with advanced first-aid and technical driving skills lead a team of no more than 15 bushwhackers into the bush for an educational African adventure. Learn how to make your own rope from the plant fibres of this remote wilderness basin; capture snakes safely after receiving expert snake handler demonstrations; perfect knife skills so that it appears as if you have come from a lineage of Samurai and build outdoor shelters from branches and foliage that would win biodegradable architectural awards.
This specialised course features a friction fire lighting module so as dusk falls, fire strikers get struck along a knife to start a blaze sans matches or Zippo (impressive!). Three days of ultimate camping and you'll shake you head when someone suggests buying pre-skinned meat or puting a light on. Daylight highlights the incredible landscape of Gauteng plains and moonlight brings an abundance of African stars that stare down on you like skyward prey. Sharpen your axe, get out your folding saw and dust off your sleeping bag the wild is a calling.
