Self Catering Accommodation

Little Forest Farm Cottage in Maanhaarrand has a double volume open plan layout and can accommodate six guests. Nestling between large deciduous trees about 20m from the main house, it enjoys sunlight in Winter making it quite warm even without lighting the fire and the dappled shade in Summer keeps it cool.

There is a double bed on the ground floor adjacent to the seating area. There are another two double beds in the semi-private spaces above. The bathroom is fitted with a shower, toilet and basin. The Cottage has it's own dedicated “donkey” powered by a rocket stove – we're happy to stoke it for you a few times a day or we can show you how to make piping hot water yourself, bush-style!

The kitchenette has a 2-burner gas stove, bar fridge, pots, pans, crockery, cutlery and a variety of glasses. There is an indoor fireplace and outside is a covered patio with braai area.

On Site Facilities

There is a dam on site with lovely views and a picnic spot. Secure parking is provided.

Maanhaarrand is a visual extravaganza for those who love the natural splendour of this country, as well as its fauna and flora. Archaeologists have long been fascinated in the region, thanks to the fossilised remains of ancient species that can be found here, both human and animal.
