About Dine at De Hoek Country House
The cuisine and 5 star service at De Hoek in Magaliesberg is internationally acclaimed. Michael Holenstein oversees his kitchens with much aplomb and finesse. The style of food served is French continental, and a new 5 course menu is designed every day, according to the freshest produce available. The menu is a combination of interesting flavours and the food is beautifully presented with a great deal of pride by a dedicated team. Wines are sourced from selected vineyards in the Western Cape.
The conservatory is a beautiful elegant dining room with glass french doors leading out onto the pond and trees. Brass chandeliers and mahogany display cabinets set the atmosphere for an intimate and romantic culinary delight. A private exclusive dinner can be held in the main hall, around the 20 seater mahogany table for a wonderful celebration. A private point room is available for smaller groups.
Menus are designed personally for guests and wines are chosen accordingly by Michael who in 2008 was nominated as one of the top chefs in South Africa for culinary consistancy. He won junior chef of the year in 1989. He became a master chef with Chaine des Rotisseurs in 2000. The restaurant has regularly been voted as one of the top 100, over the last 10 years.
