About Thaba Manzi Ranch

Thaba Manzi is a place where you can truly escape from city life. Come and experience the wonder of multi-coloured indigenous Nguni cattle and Pedi sheep, sharing grazing with haartebeest, eland, gemsbok, nyala, zebra, blesbok and graceful giraffe as they did in olden times.

Enjoy an evening braai where the background music is the sounds of the bush and the calls of the jackals. For the more active we offer hikes and climbs in the mountains and game viewing on numerous internal cycle and walking trails.

Self Catering Accommodation

Thaba Manzi Ranch offers self-catering cottages accommodating from two to four people comfortably, handling a total of 12 people sharing. Individually furnished each cottage is uniquely designed with Victorian slipper baths and double showers. They all have fully equipped kitchens, as well as their own braai areas. There is a shared pool area.

Loerie and Lilac Studios:
The cottage has a Victorian slipper bath and double showers, a queen bed in bedroom, lounge and the kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering and is all open plan. The unit has its own braai area and patio that overlooks the mountains. All bed linen and bath towels are provided. Units have heaters / ceiling fan.

Peacock and Lavender Cottages:
The cottage has a Victorian slipper bath and double shower, queen bed in bedroom and double sleeper couch in the lounge. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering. The unit has a shared braai area and overlooks the swimming pool and mountains. All bed linen and bath towels are provided. Unit has heaters / fan.

Notes

Kindly note it is a real farm, so it comes with bugs and farm animals! It does get cold in the evenings so be sure to bring extra warm things eg extra blankets. Remember to bring your own swimming towels!

1. When we arrived the lady was killing cockroaches by hand as she showed us the kitchen cupboards. These were crawling around the cupboards & tops throughout our stay. 2. I had no water in the shower, wash basin & bath for 3 days. This was both during loadshedding & when electricity was available. I could not even get water to brush my teeth or wash my face. After sending complaint to reception on the 2nd day. No one even bothered to reply or even give a courtesy call. On the 3rd night we had water after the loadshedding after 9pm. 3. The baths are a joke. The bottom of the bath is approx. 30cm x 95cm. You have to be a midget or bath with your butt or feet in the air. 4. The roads were disastrous. You need a 4 wheel drive vehicle the holes were do deep you can fit the entire car in them. You risk your car driving on this road. The very least they could gave done was warn us about the state of the road. 5. You have to drive though hop high grass to get the vehicle through a gate to be by the cottage. We left as soon as we could early and would never recommend this place.
