About Bushman Trail
The Commando Drift Nature Reserve rest camp in Tarkastad, Eastern Cape is a nice place to go for a walk and bird watching and game viewing.
The Bushman Trail is an easy 6 kilometre walk that will take you approximately 2 hours to complete, so it is a good one for the whole family to go on. Starting at the Reserve you will follow the path along the Kommandodrif dam and then ascend up Palingkloof along a track often used by jeeps.
Mountain biking is also popular in the area. The views are breathtaking and you may be able to spot a variety of animals and reptiles as well as numerous waders and water birds.
