Little Courtyards is situated in the Western Cape or the Winelands of South Africa, in the town of Tulbagh. Imagine a wonderful home in a beautiful community in the midst of breathtaking nature with sunshine most of the year.

Restored to its pre-1800 grandeur, with classic gables and old yellowwood, this charming Cape Dutch house is a National Monument and part of the historic Church Street of Tulbagh. Little Courtyards is situated in a safe environment, and all restaurants for breakfast / lunch / dinner as well as all supermarkets are within a range of 500m.

Accommodation


This is the perfect place for your next holiday. The rooms are beautifully furnished with special touches to make you feel relaxed and at home. On chilly winter evenings our guests can relax in the cozy living room or in front of the fireplace in the kitchen.

The "Four Poster" bedroom
The "Four Poster" bedroom, with en-suite bathroom, is ideally suited for special occasions such as honeymoons.

The "Sleigh"Bedroom
The "Sleigh" Bedroom is a cozy double bedroom with a large en-suite bathroom.

Garden Room
A secluded Garden Room, not for rent on it's own, has twin beds and an en-suite bathroom.

Whole House
The whole house is also suitable for self-catering with its fully equipped kitchen (stove, microwave, fridge, washing machine). A television and Hi-fi with mp3-player are at your disposal. Linen and towels are provided, except pool towels.

Two secluded courtyards, one with a small sheltered garden sitting under vines and one with a small pool, will tempt you on hot summer days.

Attractions & Activities


Tulbagh is a charming historic town with a wealth of Cape Dutch Architecture. Set in a beautiful landscape, Tulbagh is famous for its heritage, magnificent country living, scenic beauty and majestic mountain ranges. The Obiqua Mountains to the west, the Winterhoek Mountains to the north and the Witzenberg to the east are often covered in snow during the winter months.

Tulbagh lies an easy 80 minutes' drive north of Cape Town, at the northern edge of the beautiful fertile Breede River Valley. It is strategically placed for day trips to the West Coast and the vast inland areas of the Breede River Valley, the Cedarberg and Bokkeveld. It is within 60 minutes' drive to towns like Paarl, Stellenbosch, Franschhoek.

In more recent times, wine has moved centre stage and visitors to the valley can now enjoy a wide range of wines from the various estates and private cellars, wines that have received a string of national and international awards.
