Conveniently situated nearby all amenities, Arbuckle House is a true gateway to the Southern Drakensberg. The nearby Sani Pass, at an altitude of 2874 m remains one of South Africa's most spectacular mountain passes, and tours can be arranged for guests, including personalized collection and return directly to our doors.

The famous Himeville Arms Hotel is just a gentle stroll away and is ideal for guests looking for an evening meal in this country hotel. Alternatively Moorcroft Manor is situated nearby and offers a distinctly upmarket dining experience for those seeking a romantic evening out.

The Himeville Nature Reserve is only 1 Km away where you can view Blesbok and Wildebeest or simply have a picnic under the trees next to the two trout dams.

There are numerous other activities in close proximity that can be enjoyed including squash, tennis, golf and hiking trails where you can view the San Rock Art, or just drink in the beauty of the surrounding area. Horse riding, mountain biking, swimming, birding, trout fishing, river rafting and tubing are also close by for our more actively minded guests.

Arbuckle House is also situated opposite the Amur Falcon Roost. These birds arrive in November and fly back home again in February. It is quite amazing to see thousands of them circling the trees before roosting for the night.
