If you are a rail enthusiast try the unique railway experience that is the Hexpas Express. A rail trolley takes you up the abandoned railroad negotiating steep climbs through the Hex River Pass which overlooks the Hex River Valley and Matroosberg.
The Express offers three different rides; a four hour trip from the station to Tunnel Station and back which includes a picnic a Tunnel Station. A five and a half hour trip is offered from the Hexpass Station to the Kaffrarian Rifles Monument - perfect for the historian! A third trip from the Hexpas Station to the summit at Matroosberg Station (a restored Karoo Station) is also on offer.
