Reuban's is located inside Abalone House, and is as sumptuous and graceful as the guesthouse itself. Executive chef, Darren Stewart, likes to keep things simple yet elegant and believes in finding his inspiration in the fresh ingredients available to him, which change with the seasons.
Raising the bar with his fine dining inspired menu, Darren’s expertise in the kitchen have made Reuban's a highly recommended dinner venue, adding to an already impressive list of ‘foodie’ destinations in Paternoster. The menu changes almost daily, according to the freshest available ingredients. Beef fillet, yellowtail on herb linguine and carrot, orange and saffron soup with duck ragout, come highly recommended.
A ‘Chef’s Table’ seats 10 guests in the kitchen, offering an experience of the chef in his own kitchen theatre, as he takes them through their own food journey. Main meals are served in the restaurant, accompanied by a Platinum rated wine list, including wines from the west coast and its surrounds, Methode Cap Classique sparkling wines, French champagnes and the world’s top six single malt whiskeys.
Afternoon tea is served daily in the conservatory style ‘Orchid Room’, which overlooks the bay, although Pimms cocktails are also offered to the slightly more adventurous.
