Over one thousand crocodiles, over one hundred skins, over ten baby crocs and only one Albino named Snowy. Le Bonheur Crocodile Farm is a registered breeder and thus the dammed domicile of this Nile reptile.
Tours are dispatched with guides every 30 minutes, crossing ramps on foot above the open croc ponds in the airy farmland region of the Cape Winelands. Deceptively cute baby crocs can be held and touched by volunteering visitors. Summer months sponsor the live feeding of these fresh water carnivores, the largest predator exhibiting an impressive 5 meters in length (that's a lot of croc!).
The on-site Tannery supplies catwalks world wide with the latest in croc leather designs and finishes. The resident retail outlet merchandising designer belts, wallets, handbags and furniture made from all colours of this exotic hide.
The crocs are secured in an enclosed section allowing for leisurely enjoyment of the natural backdrop. Hikes and trails link the natural vegetation and bird watching of neighbouring farms. The waterfront restaurant overlooking a garden serves all day breakfast as well as signature crocodile meat dishes like the croc spring roles. Shoulder massage therapists relax guests on some Sundays. There is also a safe kiddie’s playground and perfect picnic places.
