Conveniently located just minutes away from Johannesburg’s OR Tambo International airport, the Kempton Park Golf Club is a typical Parklands style championship golf course with a great track record in South African golfing history.
Designed in ’65 by renowned golfing architects, Grimsdell and Kerr, Kempton Park has gone on to host a number of first rate tournaments. Also known as the club where Ernie Els first learnt the game, Kempton Park today offers fantastic professional golfing lessons to all those who reckon they would like to be the next “Big Easy.”
The course itself is an 18 hole, par 72, rated parklands golf course. Its fairways are Kikuyu and the greens are crafted from Poa and Bent grass. The men’s tee’s measure 6548m in length and the ladies tee’s, 5286m. Kempton Park welcomes visitors.
Facilities include a driving range, putting green, golf cart hire, caddies, golf club hire, a bar and pool tables, halfway house, pro-shop, various reception venues and, as already mentioned, world class professional golfing lessons.
