About The VW AutoPavilion
Uitenhage is a tiny town, but is the famous home of the Volkswagen plant, which churns out these vehicles at an impressive rate. This small epicentre plays an integral role in putting the Eastern Cape on the international commercial map.
The AutoPavilion is dubbed The Place of Cars and Legends. This museum was opened in 2004 and acts as a heritage centre, providing visitors a sneak peek into the history and evolution of Volkswagen; as a vehicle, a company and a brand.
The AutoPavilion is the only automobile discovery centre in all of Africa, and one of only five in the entire world. This heritage centre is modern, complete with high-tech equipment and interactive displays.
These displays include prototypes, unique vehicles, record-breaking cars, quizzes, and more. This makes it ideal for young and old alike.
The architecture of the AutoPavilion is not to be ignored. In fact, it has been featured for this reason alone in a number of architectural publications. The combination of its state-of-the-art design and tasteful décor makes for a world-class motor appreciation centre.
