Black Eagle Tented Camp offers accommodation in Groendal Wilderness Area, a five-minute walk from the car park (so pack accordingly), but the effort is well worthwhile. Shaded by ancient Forest Elder and Tierhout trees, your tent is a cool oasis on a hot Karoo day. Wake up to a chorus of bird calls and hear the owls and dassies call at night.

Self Catering Accommodation

Black Eagle Tented Camp is a luxury camp in Groendal Wilderness Area sleeping eight guests in four double tents. The tents are furnished with a King-size bed and have a private bathroom with a shower, toilet and basin. The water is heated by a wood burning "donkey".

All four tents have been upgraded and are now larger and brighter than before thanks to a large glass, sliding door.

The central unit has a fully equipped kitchen with a fridge, freezer and a four plate gas hob as well a dining table and a sitting area with an indoor fireplace.

Large sliding doors lead out to a patio with a fire pit and a plunge pool.

The parking is accessible in a normal vehicle.

Activities & Attractions

Kleinrivier is a paradise for hikers, birders and those who simply want to escape other people for a while. We have not introduced any of the big five so it is safe to walk and explore our many trails on your own. The scenery in the Kleinrivier gorge is spectacularly beautiful and there are frequent pools to tempt you in on a hot summer day. If you are lucky you may encounter klipspringer, kudu or other game that we have introduced.
