About Crossroads Reef
For one of the most interesting deep dives (ranging from 16 to 28 meters), get to Crossroads, just out from Noordhoek in Port Elizabeth. Crossroads can be distinguished by its deep gullies that cross over each other on the rocky bed. Exploring the various rocky outcrops and caves will allow you the opportunity to spot some unusual sights.
You could see a variety of rays while here and if you are very lucky, you may bump into a Logger head turtle, a curious visitor who shows up from time to time. Pajama Sharks and Geelbek frequent the area long with multiple Red Bait pods and a large selection of Anemones and Red Wall sponges.
Albino Basket Stars, Eyelash Moss Animals, Dragon Nudibrachs, Cobbled Starfish, Pale Long-tentacled Anemones, Smooth Horse Fish, Spined Kelp, The White Sock Sea Spider, Cape Knifejaw, a variety of Limpets, Puffadder Shysharks, Cape Rock Crabs and Frilly Mouthed Jellyfish are just some of the spectacular creatures you will encounter.
Southern Right Whales have also been known to cruise through the area. This magnificent dive spot will blow your mind and is certainly not one to be missed.
