About the Cape Town Art Fair

From 16 to 18, the V&A Waterfront will again be abuzz with art enthusiasts and those with a keen eye for all things aesthetically intriguing.

Cape Town is known the world over for its abundance of cultural attractions and events, with many of the prime spots and venues in the Mother City being dedicated to exhibiting the stunning innovations and creativity of artists. Thanks to its respected standing on the international arts platform, Cape Town has proven itself to be the perfect host for this exciting and vibrant event.

The Cape Town Art Fair is certainly one of the highlights of these. This fair is dedicated to showcasing the works of a number of incredible artists, each of whom has their own style and approach to artistic interpretation.

Over the course of the four days of the event, there will be a number of features to which to look forward. These include talks and presentations, as well as the opportunity to meet some of the curators and artists. Every day, a free shuttle service will take visitors between the Two Oceans Aquarium (Cape Town Art Fair), the Lookout (for the GUILD Design Fair) and the Cape Town International Conference Centre (for the Design Indaba). This means that design- and art-lovers will be able to get a diverse, well-rounded experience of the talent that Africa has to offer in a number of different spheres.

Guest curators include RoseLee Goldberg (the founder and director of non-profit organisation, Performa, and passionate representative of performance art in all its forms) and Sue Williamson (an artist, writer and cultural worker that has had a massive influence on the use of art to explore the single and collective consciousness of those enjoying it).
